End of Utilities Monopoly in Arizona

Mark Bauer 12/09/2019

In an article by Peter Samore on KTAR News, finding the price you want to pay for utilities may become easier than ever. According to chairman Robert Burns of the Arizona Corporation Commission, “Any person who uses electricity would be able to purchase the plan that they like”. On December 19, the ACC will start to investigate ways that will end the monopoly on utilities. In the article Samore states that the “new competition would have to build generation, transmission and distribution components. APS has all three”. (Samore 2019)
